Ruler Type - Custom Typeface Experimentation

Type Design • Poster Design • P5.js Coding

Project Overview

Ruler type is a computer-type design that utilizes the concept of constraining letters and numbers with a unified diagonal line. The font got its name from its 90-degree angle base, which resembles a triangle ruler. The typeface was designed using fontstruct.com as recommended by the instructor, which took weeks of work and revision to arrive at its final stage.

Taking the design further, I've used the typeface to create a series of experimental promotional posters for my favorite animated film, Patlabor 2, along with an interactive experience designed and coded in p5.js.
